Dublin city triathlon was staged in the pristine waters of the liffey and then into Europe’s largest city park on Saturday morning. Setanta had 7 members competing these numbers were no doubt affected by the fact that the Irish Long course championships are taking place this weekend.
The swim was altered slightly this year which left the competitors with a good strong current to contend with, and also a long run to transition, the bike section was a little kinder to the lads. Those to compete were Michael Cahill who no doubt was delighted with cutting 6 Mins from last years transition time, David Myles, Anthony Mc Gurk and Graham Townsend all flying the flag for the south Louth people. Three Mc Cabes Niall, Johnny and Gerry. All of the lads were extremely happy with the results giving the layout of the course and also the fact that the chat among the elite was to the same effect of the course throwing up some longer than expected times.
Best of luck this weekend coming to Liam Dolan as he sets out to maintain his Irish Long course Title (Half Ironman Distance 1.9km swim 90km bike 20km run) in Kenmare Co Kerry, along with Liam best of luck goes to the Dynamic duo of Brian Cafferty and Ronan greene, the three lads have already raced the English Half Ironman this year and are hoping for a good day in Kerry on Saturday. |
